Born in Bhopal India, “the city of lakes and culture”, Worcester based artist Parijata Jain’s creative concepts are continually influenced by her penchant for nature and Indian culture. With training and degrees in several art disciplines, including fine arts, fashion, textile and industrial design, she brings a diverse set of skills, and a passion for creating, that keeps her working across many fields. Whether she’s painting a commissioned canvas for a corporate interior design project, working on a textile piece for a fashion client, or illustrating one of her gorgeous henna designs at a community event, Parijata is an artist whose work you will want to follow.
A passionate, inspiring, creative artist and designer, she takes a moment from her busy schedule to share all that she does and where you can find it, as part of The 12 Days of an ARTful Holiday series.
Can you share with us a bit about your work and how you got started?
“I love being in conversation with my canvas. It takes me to the world where I am a free soul. It lets me expand my wings and fly fearlessly. I am known for calming BUDDHA’S painting.
Art has always been my passion, even when I was a kid. I chose to follow my passion and took formal training in art and design, which followed with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts, a Masters Degree in Textile and Fashion Design, and a Masters Degree in Toy and Game Design. I have worked with many well known design companies, like FABINDIA, and enjoy that part of my work. I get the most satisfaction from creating art and dealing with people in person. Getting all the appreciation and most beautiful smiles from my clients, keeps me inspired every moment.”
Where can people interested purchase or commission a piece of your work?
“I love to do commissioned work. I work with individual collectors, as well as interior designers and housing companies to get the perfect artwork for the interior and the buyer.
Interested parties may visit my website http://www.parijatanid.wixsite.com/i-feltd/paintings or contact me at [email protected]
I am currently having a Holiday Discount of 30% off all of my paintings and commissioned work, through January 1, 2018.”
The 12 Days of an ARTful Holiday features local artists, crafters, and makers who work and/or live in Worcester, for 12 consecutive days of the holiday season. By letting them share their work in their own words, I am hoping readers will recognize the incredibly talented community of creatives we have here in our city, and consider their pieces and classes as a thoughtful, hand crafted, local option for gift giving this season.
