WORCESTER – Saint Vincent Hospital has online check-in available for those requiring treatment at for non-life-threatening emergencies.

While the hospital has protocols in place to keep every patient safe during their visit, patients can minimize their waiting time by visiting the hospital’s emergency room website.

Saint Vincent staff members are reminding the public that some situations should prompt going directly to the hospital emergency room.

Delaying seeking care could make matters much worse.

Here are 14 reason to visit the emergency room according to Saint Vincent Hospital staff:

  • Trouble breathing
  • Chest pain or pressure
  • Sudden, severe problem that is life or limb threatening
  • Serious burns
  • Head trauma or sudden confusion
  • Weakness or numbness on one side

  • Slurred speech
  • Sudden blurred or lost vision
  • Facial cuts or lacerations
  • Uncontrollable vomiting or diarrhea or blood present in vomit or stool
