WORCESTER - The City of Worcester's Department of Public Works and Parks and other organizations are initiating the Master Plan process for the parcel at 149 West Boylston Dr. with the first of two public meetings on Monday.
The DPW is partnering with the University of Massachusetts Amherst College of Social & Behavioral Sciences and Department of Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning to initiate community engagement and conceptual design for the parcel on Indian Lake. Eighteen junior year students in the Design Studio V course will be assisting with the Master Plan.
The Master Plan will need final approval from the Parks & Recreation Commission at a future regularly scheduled meeting.
The four-acre parcel was cleared in early 2021. The property sits below the I-190 retaining wall.
Monday's meeting will be held at 6 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Church Fellowship Hall at 90 Holden St.
A second public meeting will be scheduled for next month.
