The 17th Annual Harvey Ball: 3 Events That Will Make You Smile 1
From formal gala’s, to cocktail parties, to costumed events, each year the theme of The Harvey Ball is different.  Having been to several over the years, all seem somewhat unique to it’s annual award recipient.  This year is particularly true as the city honors Patti Eppinger. A founding member and current chair of the Worcester Education Collaborative, as well as several other founding, trustee, and leadership roles for organizations throughout the city, the significant work Patty is doing for Worcester, and her dedication to education and children, are a perfect fit for this years celebration. Three back-to-back community events that will make everyone in Worcester smile.
1. Smiles In The Street  is a good old-fashioned community block party.  Music by Chuck and Mud, interactive art projects with ArtReach, storytellers, Magician Steven Craig, a kids live paint project, crafts, face painting, food trucks, and so much more.  Taking place from 4:30-6:30pm in front of the Worcester Historical Museum, 30 Elm Street between Chestnut and Linden, this FREE family fun event is sure to put a smile on your face.
2. The 17th Harvey Ball Reception will take place from 6:30-8:30pm inside the mansion.  The presentation of this years Smile Award is first, followed by a silent auction of “Smiley Faces” as interpreted by some very cool artists from across the nation.  A “Wall of Wine” raffle, music by the Worcester Jazz Collective, hors d’oeuvres by Struck Catering, and a cash bar will complete this portion of the evening’s events.
3. The KoOoLkOjAK Post Party Reception will be held outside in the big tent at 30 Elm Street.  Coffee, desserts, a cash bar, and a special music set curated by Worcester’s own KoOoLkOjAK, whose artwork graces the doors to the Worcester Historical Museum, will end the evening in style.
So bring your family, your friends, and your SMILE to the big tent this Thursday, and get your HAPPY on!
Tickets for the Harvey Ball Reception are $75 per person and include your entrance to the Post Party Reception.  If you wish to attend the Post Party Reception ONLY, tickets are $25 per person.  The Smiles In The Street Family Event is FREE.  For more information about the event, to purchase tickets, and information on where to park, visit www.worcesterhistory.org
