WORCESTER – The City of Worcester’s municipal election has come to a close and there will be new faces on the school committee and a new city council member in 2020.
More than 17,500 people came out to vote in Tuesday’s election — just 17.26% of the registered voters in the city.
The surprise of the night goes to Donna Colorio taking the sixth and final City Councilor At-Large seat. Tony Economou and Etel Haxhiaj finished in seventh and eighth place, respectively.
The incumbents running for re-election in each race earned another two-year term.
