22-year-old Shot in Neck on Providence St During Drive-By

WORCESTER – On Saturday night, a 22-year-old was shot in the neck during a drive-by shooting while sitting on the second floor porch of a Providence St. home.

According to the Worcester Police Department [WPD], officers were dispatched to 58 Providence St around 10:45 PM for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found the victim with a gunshot wound his neck. Officers helped slow the bleeding until an ambulance arrived to transport the victim to a local hospital.

The WPD Crime Scene Unit and Detective Bureau spoke with witnesses that told them a vehicle drove by with the window open and fired one round from a handgun.

The victim is in stable condition and is expected to recover at this time.
