SOUTHBRIDGE, MA – Police arrested a man early Sunday morning in connection with a double stabbing incident.
At approximately 1:12 AM. on September 3, officers were dispatched to a reported stabbing. Police arrived at the scene to find one individual with a hand laceration and another stabbed in the chest. Both victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.
According to the Southbridge Police Department, investigators reviewed video surveillance footage and conducted multiple witness interviews, leading to Jose Luis Mandujano, 31, of Southbridge, being identified as the suspect.
Police say Mandujano was located at his residents and was taken into custody after a brief struggle.
Mandujano faces multiple charges:
- Assault with Intent to Commit a Felony;
- Two Counts of Assault And Battery with a Dangerous Weapon;
- Disorderly Conduct; and
- Disturbing The Peace.
He is currently being held on $25,040 cash bail and is scheduled for arraignment in Dudley District Court on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.
