WORCESTER – Early Thursday morning, Feb. 15, a 32-year-old female suffered a head and leg injury after being struck crossing Lincoln St. by a Chevrolet Silverado.
According to the Worcester Police Department, just before 9 AM, officers arrived in the area of 587 Lincoln St. to find the female victim lying in the roadway bleeding from her head. The Silverado had stopped in the middle of the roadway.
The Worcester Police Crash Reconstruction Unit was called in to take over the investigation. The pedestrian was treated at the scene by Worcester EMS and transported to a local hospital.
According to the WPD’s preliminary investigation, the pedestrian was crossing Lincoln St near, but not in, a crosswalk when she was struck by the truck traveling southeast on Lincoln St.
The operator of the truck stayed at the scene the scene of the accident and spoke with WPD investigators. There have been no citations issued at this time, but that may change as the investigation moves forward, according to WPD.
The Silverado was towed from the scene and investigators will seek a warrant to obtain the truck’s Crash Retrieval Database.
The condition of the pedestrian is unknown at this time.
