36-Year-Old Worcester Man Arrested on Gun, Drug Charges

WORCESTER – Massachusetts State Police [MPS] arrested a local man on Sunday, October 31, for gun and drug charges.

A Trooper on Stafford Street saw a black Mazda CX-9 SUV travelling without headlights on at around 2:30 AM and initiated a traffic stop. The driver, David McDade, 36, of Worcester, provided his driver’s license to the Trooper.

The Trooper soon learned that McDade’s license to operate was suspended.

According to MSP, after informing McDade that he’d receive a criminal citation and the vehicle towed, the Trooper found a loaded Smith & Wesson revolver in the center console of the SUV. McDade does not have a license to carry a firearm.

The Trooper also located a baggie containing a substance believed to be cocaine, a digital scale, and several baggies containing marijuana.

McDade faces charges of:

  • Lights Violation;
  • Operation Of A Motor Vehicle With A Suspended License;
  • Carrying a Firearm;
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm;
  • Improper Storage Of A Firearm;
  • Firearm Violation with One Prior Violent/Drug Crime;
  • Possession of a Firearm in Felony;
  • Possess to Distribute Class B Drug; and
  • Possess to Distribute Class D Drug.
