Late Monday night, a motor vehicle stop by a Massachusetts State trooper led to the arrest of 39-year-old Jason Reyes of Worcester for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and possession of narcotics with intent to distribute.
According to the Mass. State Police [MSP], around 10:05 PM on Monday, Trooper Matthew Foley assigned to the State Police- Millbury Barracks was on patrol on Route 146 North near the intersection of Quinsigamond Ave. when he observed a 2009 Subaru Impreza travelling northbound.
A random check on the vehicle’s registration revealed that its owner, Reyes, had a suspended license for failure to pay child support. Trooper Foley stopped the vehicle and spoke to Reyes who was subsequently placed under arrest.
Further investigation of Reyes’ vehicle revealed that he was in possession of 14 individually wrapped bags containing a white substance that appeared to be cocaine and 15 individually wrapped bags believed to contain marijuana.
Reyes was charged with possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute, possession of a Class D substance with intent to distribute and operating with a suspended license. He was also cited for being in possession of marijuana open container in a motor vehicle.
Reyes was transported to the State Police barracks in Middleboro for booking.
He was released on $2,540 bail and was arraigned this week at Worcester District Court.
