WORCESTER – Officers with Worcester Police Vice Squad served a search warrant to a home near Birch St. and Main St. on Friday, March 26, and arrested a man who faces several drug charges.
The Massachusetts State Police supported Worcester Police to locate the subject of the warrant, Alberto Alvarez, 39, of Worcester. Police stopped Alvarez as he entered the Birch St. building where he lives.
According to Worcester Police, officers found several bags of cocaine and a large amount of methamphetamine inside Alvarez’s home. Police also found scales and other drug packaging materials.
Police arrested Alvarez, who faces charges of:
- Possession of a Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute
- Possession of a Firearm without an FID
- Possession of an Assault Rifle
- Possession of Large Capacity Feeding Device
- Possession of Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Improper Storage of a Firearm
