WORCESTER – The United States Marshals Task Force, which includes members of the Massachusetts State Police and Worcester Police Department, arrested a local man on outstanding warrants on Tuesday, September 28, and found an illegal firearm.
Task force members located Edwin Rivera, 44, of Worcester, on Beacon Street at around 6:20 AM, where they placed him under arrest for outstanding warrants.
Officers recovered a loaded handgun and rounds of ammunition. Rivera does not have a license to carry firearms.
Rivera faces charges for the outstanding and new charges for Possession of a Firearm without an FID Card and Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card.
Both of the new charges are Rivera’s second offense, if convicted.
