In today’s edition – Friday, November 27 – there are many opportunities to contribute to the Massachusetts State Police and the US Marine Corps Reserve Annual Toys for Tots Holiday Drive, Quinsigamond Community College Police Department hosts Stuff-A-Cruiser, Grafton Police Department hosts Fill the Cruiser with Toys, learn American Sign Language through a free online course by the Worcester Public Library and get a free half-dozen donuts from Dunkin’ and Uber Eats.

 

For 36th Year, Mass State Police Assist U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Drive

For the 36th consecutive year, the Massachusetts State Police [MSP] will assist the United States Marine Corps Reserve in its annual Toys for Tots Holiday Drive.

To contribute, donors can drop off new, unwrapped, non-violent toys for boys or girls, ages infant to 14, at any State Police Barracks across Massachusetts or at State Police General Headquarters between now and Friday, December 11.

Donors also have the option of making a monetary donation by credit card or through the mail directly to the Toys for Tots program.

New this year, donors also have the option through the Toys for Tots website of shopping for a toy online and donating it through the organizations new Virtual Toy Box.

Those who wish to donate locally in Worcester County can visit State Police barracks at the following locations:

Stuff-a-Cruiser at QCC

Quinsigamond Community College’s Campus Police is hosting its annual Stuff-A-Cruiser event on Thursday, December 3, from 11 AM to 2 PM.

Each year campus police collect new, unwrapped toys that go directly to QCC students and their families who need a little help during the holiday season.

Police Captain Joseph Cecchi will be on hand both days to accept donations and bring a bit of holiday cheer to the folks who stop by to help fill the cruiser.

Campus Police reminds everyone that masks must be worn at all times while on campus.

 

Grafton Police Fill the Cruiser with Toys for Kids

For those in Grafton looking to give back, Grafton Police hold it Fill the Cruiser event on Saturday, November 28 from 10 AM until 2 PM.

The cruiser will be at Homefield Credit Union at 86 Worcester St. in Grafton.

This event accepts new, unopened toys for kids and teens.

 

Learn American Sign Language with a Free Online Course

The Worcester Public Library is offering a free American Sign Language course starting on Wednesday, December 30.

The course is four 45-minute sessions and presented in virtual sessions.

The course will include the ASL manual alphabet, greetings, days of the week, food, ASL negations and affirmations, and how to form basic ASL sentences that use the signs you learn during class.

Space is limited to the first 20 registrants.
