Claim your pie at The Pie Store at 135 Green St. in Worcester.
The Pie Store is open between 9-5 PM, Tuesday through Saturday.
Worcester Public Library Open for Limited Browsing May 3
The Worcester Public Library announced on Thursday, April 29, that the Main Library at 3 Salem Sq. and the Frances Perkins Branch will open for limited services starting on May 3.
The Main Library will open for browsing, computer use, faxing, copying and printing.
Library staff is organizing access in 1.5 hour blocks, Monday through Saturday,. The blocks begin at 9 AM, 11 AM, 1 PM, and 3 PM
No appointment is necessary. The number of individuals allowed in the building at will not exceed 50 at one time.
Remote assistance is also available during these times by calling 508-799-1655, through email, or by using the chat feature on the website at mywpl.org.
The Frances Perkins Branch will offer limited browsing and appointments for computer use, printing and copying according to the following schedule:
- Monday – 10::30 AM to 6 PM
- Tuesday – 9:30 AM to 5 PM
- Wednesday – 9:30 AM to 5 PM
- Thursday – 2 PM to 6 PM
- Friday – 10::30 AM to 6 PM
Requests to pick up holds in the lobby will be accommodated.
The Library asks that patrons leave the first hour of each day for seniors and vulnerable populations if possible.
All branches continue to offer holds pickup curbside or in the lobby; to see hours and procedures at all locations visit mywpl.org/article/curbside-pickup.

20 Cities Receive $8.8 Million from Vaccine Equity Initiative
Governor Charlie Baker’s office announced on Thursday, April 29, $8.8 million in additional grants and contracts to community-based organizations as part of the Massachusetts Vaccine Equity Initiative.
The Initiative targeted to organization in 20 cities and towns hardest hit by the pandemic.
The funds, distributed to select community- and faith-based organizations statewide, include $6.8 million to 25 organizations over 24 months to reduce barriers to vaccination for priority communities and populations most disproportionately impacted by COVID-19.

Mosquito Control Task Force Listening Session
The Massachusetts Mosquito Control for the Twenty-First Century Task Force holds a virtual public listening session from 11 AM to 1 PM on Monday, May 3.
The Task Force accepts comments on mosquito control at the session, which it will use in developing recommendations,
Residents unable to attend the virtual listening session may submit a comment.
Public speaking time is limited to 3 minutes. Pre-registration is required. The agenda is available here.
Worcester Chamber Music Society Annual Senior Concert
The Worcester Chamber Music Society (WCMS) continues its 15th Season with its The Dr. Ted Conna Memorial Concert, an all-Mozart concert recorded at Briarwood Retirement Community and premiering on May 15 at 4 p.m.
The concert is available on-demand through June 30. The performance includes:
- String Quartet No. 19 in C major, K. 465 “Dissonance”
- Flute Quartet in D Major, K. 285
Tickets are available on the Worcester Chamber Music Society website.
Tickets are FREE to all senior residents of Worcester County; $20 for adults or $38 for a household; $5 for students; youth (17 and under) and EBT card holders are free.
