Passers-by over the past few months have seen the former headquarters for the Girls Scouts of Central and Western Mass. be torn down, the site cleared and steel beams erected for a new building.

We now know what’s coming to the property at 77-81 Gold Star Blvd.

SA Burgers LLC has filed an application with the License Commission for liquor and entertainment licenses. In a filing with the Secretary of the Commonwealth, SA Burgers says it is a franchise holder for Burgerim restaurants, a fast-casual chain that claims to be the fastest growing burger franchise in the country.

Mass. Tattoo Convention Returning to DCU Center this Weekend

The 4th Annual Massachusetts Tattoo Convention is taking place at the DCU Center this weekend — Friday, Sept. 20 to Sunday, Sept. 22.

The convention features more than 100 tattoo artists from all over the world.

Worcester Public Library Hosting Vegan Chef and Author

The Worcester Public Library will host vegan chef and cookbook author Colin McCullough, vegan cook and cookbook author at the downtown Main Library on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 2 PM to 4:30 PM.

McCullough will hold a class on vegan energy bites, using recipes from his new cookbook, The Healthy Vegan Cookbook. Recipes will include coconut mojito energy bites and black forest smoothies.  McCullough will sign cookbooks after the class.

“I believe that eating healthy food is the single most important step we can take to improve our health and happiness,” said McCullough.

McCullough will also be teaching a class on Saturday, Oct.19 on cooking Thai curries from scratch. 

The classes are open to anyone ages 18 and older. Registration is available online at mywpl.org or by calling 508-799-1655 ext. 3.

 

  

 

 

Flu Clinics This Week at Worcester Senior Center

A pair of flu clinics are taking place today and tomorrow at the Worcester Senior Center on Providence St. 

Thursday, Sept. 19:  9:30 AM – 11:30 AM – Flu Clinic with Walgreens 

Friday, Sept. 20: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM – Flu Clinic with Shaw’s Osco Pharmacy

Walk-ins are welcome. Individuals must bring insurance and Medicare cards.
