In today’s edition – Monday, April 5 – schedule changes start today on the Worcester commuter rail line, there’s two days of free COVID-19 testing this week, the Charlton Driving Range is now open and has a great deal this week, Quinsigamond Community College is hosting an information session for Becker students, and Polar releases its summer seltzer lineup.

 

Schedule Changes on Worcester’s Commuter Rail Line Starts Today

Beginning today — Monday, April 5 — changes to inbound and outbound train schedule on the Framingham/Worcester line will go into effect.

From 5 AM to 7 PM on weekdays, all inbound and outbound trains will depart on-the-hour between Worcester and South Station in downtown Boston.

The MBTA hopes to improve ridership for pre-pandemic commuters and new riders as they develop a Regional Rail style of service.

Additionally, during AM and PM peak periods on weekdays, all inbound and outbound trains will depart every 30 minutes between Framingham and South Station.

 

Free COVID-19 Testing this Week in Worcester

The UMass Memorial Health Care COVID-19 Equity Task Force and the City of Worcester are offering free, walk-up COVID-19 testing this week.

The testing will take place indoors at Mercantile Center at 201 Commercial St. on the following days and times:

  • Monday, April 5, 11 AM to 3 PM
  • Thursday, April 8, 11 AM to 3 PM

No appointments are necessary.

Buy One, Get One Free on Buckets at Charlton Driving Range this Week

The new Charlton Driving Range is now open at 31 Southbridge Road and ownership is rolling out some great deals for golf enthusiasts and beginners.

From now until April 8, buckets of balls are buy one, get one free.

The range is open seven days a week from 9 AM to 9 PM. The BOGO bucket deal is good each week from Monday to Thursday from 9 AM to 3 PM.

 

QCC to Offer Information Session for Becker Students 

Quinsigamond Community College will host a virtual information session for Becker College students on Thursday, April 8, from 4 PM to 5 PM.

The session offers current Becker students information on how to transfer into QCC. Prospective Becker students are also invited to join.

QCC recently signed a transfer agreement and memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Becker College to assist current Becker students in transferring into the College to continue their studies. The agreement is for all current Becker students in programs transferrable into QCC’s comparable programs that include:

  • Associate Degree in Business Administration Transfer
  • Associate Degree in Criminal Justice
  • Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education Birth – Eight Years Old (Evening Only)
  • Associate Degree Nurse Education

Polar’s Limited Edition Summer Seltzer lineup is now available.

The beverage company announcing on social media last week their “Breakout Summer ’21” lineup will include flavors Watermelon Mojito, Tropical Cherry, Pink Summer Iced Tea, Strawberry Margarita and Blackberry Mango Punch.
