In today’s daily 5 Things You Need to Know feature, ThisWeekinWorcester.com explores five important items and stories that Worcester and Central Massachusetts residents should keep a close eye on.

These five things can cover a whole range of subjects and issues that we feel are pertinent to understanding what’s going on in the city and the cities and towns surrounding Worcester.

In today’s edition – Monday, August 8 – the new Worcester RMV center opens today at Southwest Commons Plaza, there’s a bicycle rodeo in Paxton this weekend, Rocco’s Doughnut Co. is hiring at all three locations, August Adventures Day is this week at the Worcester Historical Museum and Go Hard or Stay Home is hosting a backpack and school supplies giveaway this weekend.

The Southwest Cutoff location will be open from 9 AM to 5 PM Monday to Friday. The new RMV will offer all transactions presently available at the downtown RMV location. There are roughly 350 parking spaces at the new Worcester RMV location.
