stART on the Street holds its 15th annual gifting-themed arts and crafts festival on Sunday, Dec. 4.

The event is at Union Station from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Cornerstone Bank Offers Home Heating Assistance Loan Program

Cornerstone bank has launched a new home heating assistance loan program designed for low- to moderate-income households, The loan amount is up to $1,000 with terms up to 10 months at a fixed low interest rate of 3 %.

Local residents can apply for the home heating assistance loan through Feb. 28, 2023, at any of Cornerstone Bank’s branches throughout Central Massachusetts or online.

Rocky’s Ace Hardware Inducted into Retail Hall of Fame

Rocky’s Ace Hardware, was recently awarded the Award of Excellence in Retail by the Retailers Association of Massachusetts and inducted into the Retail Hall of Fame.

Current Rocky’s Ace Hardware President Rocco Falcone’s grandfather opened the first Rocky’s in 1926 in Springfield, Massachusetts. In 1966, Rocky’s son James began running the business, eventually expanding to a successful seven-store chain before affiliating with the Ace Hardware Co-op. James’ son Rocco is the third generation of the family to serve as president.

Rocky’s Ace Hardware has 25 stores in Massachusetts including Worcester, Fitchburg, Holden, and Northborough and a total of 47 locations in nine states.

Award Recipients are nominated by their industry peers and local chambers of commerce and are recognized for their overall excellence, innovation and service within the retail industry.

The Retailers Association of Massachusetts Awards of Excellence were created in 1998 as a way to acknowledge retail excellence in the Commonwealth.

The Cup Show at Worcester Center for Crafts

The Krikorian Gallery at the Worcester Center for Crafts, at 25 Sagamore Rd., is now hosting its Cup Show 2022.

This year’s show is curated by talented ceramist Kelly Justice, who will be judging applicants for the Juror’s Choice, Student and BIPOC Awards.

The collection of cups gives shoppers the chance to find the cup that is perfect for the cocoa, coffee, tea, or cocktail lovers on your holiday gift-giving list.

The show is accessible daily from 10 AM to 5 PM through Dec. 24.

Downtown Worcester BID Monthly Meeting

The Downtown Worcester Business Improvement District’s December meeting is Friday, Dec. 9, at the AC Worcester Hotel at 25 Front St. from 9 AM to 10 AM.

This month, the meeting will be joined by Discover Central Massachusetts Executive Director Monique Messier and Membership Success Coordinator Tim Power who will discuss their mission to market Central Massachusetts as a competitive destination for travel and tourism, as well as conventions, meetings, and events.

There will also be time to network with food and drink provided by the AC Hotel.
