The collaboration between city government; IMPACT Melanoma, a national non-profit organization, dedicated to skin cancer prevention and education, and UMass Chan Medical School student Christopher Fay seeks to bring more than two dozen free sunscreen dispensers to some of Worcester’s public parks, public housing facilities, and other locations that benefit the city’s outdoor workers.

The vendor application deadline for this year’s Out to Lunch Festival and Farmers Market series on the Worcester Common is today – Friday, May 20.

The city is encouraging crafters, artisans, local farmers, food trucks, local restaurants, and local nonprofits to apply.

Mercantile Center announced today it will open and host the Harpoon Worcester Beer Garden this summer from its downtown Worcester location. The Harpoon Worcester Beer Garden will operate Thursday through Sunday through the end of September, and will open on May 26.

Operated by Reunion Tap and Table, the beer garden will cater to the workers, residents, and visitors who enjoy Downtown Worcester in the Summer. The Beer Garden will be located on Mercantile Court, which is a pedestrian-only walkway between the One Mercantile Tower and its next-door parking garage. With Mercantile Center serving as the host and property manager, the beer garden is the latest addition to a rejuvenated business district.
