Election Commission to Host Public Hearing on Wednesday

The City of Worcester’s Board of Election Commissioners will host a public hearing on July 28 to concerning the 2021 state early
voting legislation for the September 14 and November 2.

The meeting will be held virtually at 5 PM.

Worcester Red Sox Booster Club Members can Purchase Tickets for Remainder of Season Today

Tickets for the Worcester Red Sox’ final homestand of the season will go on sale at 12 PM today to Worcester Red Sox Booster Club members.

The WooSox will host the Rochester Red Wings from Sept. 22 to 26.

Mrs. Moriconi’s Selling Special Ice Cream for Why Me & Sherry’s House

From now until Labor Day, Mrs. Moriconi’s Ice Cream will be selling a special ice cream to help raise money for Why Me & Sherry’s House and celebrate the more than dozen individuals rucking 100 miles as part of a fundraiser for the organization.

“Ruck March Mash” is milk chocolate ice cream with pretzels and mini marshmallows.

Pint are $12 and half pints are $7.

The ice cream will be available wherever Mrs. Moriconi’s is — at the Sprinkler Factory, at farmers markets, and more.

 

EcoTarium Launches Initiative for Ninth, Tenth Graders

The EcoTarium in Worcester is starting an educational initiative for ninth and tenth graders to introduce them to science, nature, STEM and museum operations.

The initiative — the Naturalist Program — will launch this fall and will feature trips, activities, projects and guest speakers.

Nothing Bundt Cake Hosting Fundraiser for Worcester Community Fridges

All weekend long, Bundt cake specialty shop, Nothing Bundt Cake, in Shrewsbury is hosting a fundraiser for Worcester Community Fridges, a community group with four “take what you want, leave what you can” refrigerators in the city.

The fundraiser will take place from Thursday, July 29 to Saturday, July 31.

Thirty percent of all proceeds over the weekend will go towards purchasing grocery store gift cards to be used to help fill the fridges and pantries in Worcester.
