EcoTarium Opens New Planaterium to Public

The EcoTarium’s planetarium is open again after being closed for nearly two years for remodeling.

The science and nature museum installed state-of-the-art 4K technology with surround sound to offer an immersive experience.

The Alden Planetarium features new shows with never before seen views of the universe. Shows are available daily for space explorers of all ages.

“The Alden Planetarium offers a unique experience in Central Massachusetts to discover the excitement of space travel and explore the wonders of the universe from a new perspective,” said Noreen Johnson Smith, EcoTarium president and CEO. “We are thrilled to provide members and visitors with a first-class experience in the Alden Planetarium.”

Masshire Job Fair at DCU Center this Week

The MassHire Central Job Fair  will take place at the DCU Center on Tuesday, June 7 from 11 AM to 3 PM.

Sign Up for Household Hazardous Waste Day on June 25

Appointments are still available for Worcester’s Household Hazardous Waste Day on June 25.

Residents can bring hazardous waste to the Millbury Street Drop-off Center from 9 AM to 12 PM. Proof of Worcester residency is required.

There is a limit of 25 gallons or 25 pounds per visit. The City reserves the right to refuse unidentified materials and large amounts of hazardous waste.

Residents can properly dispose of items such as oil-based paints, stains, varnishes, anti-freeze, pesticides, fertilizers, glues, adhesives, old gasoline, kerosene, needles, syringes, fluorescent light bulbs and many more items that cannot and should not be disposed of in the trash.

A second Household Hazardous Waste Day is scheduled for October 8.

Easterseals Seeks Aquatics Instructor in Worcester

Easterseals Massachusetts is currently looking for an Aquatics Instructor to run their recreational swim program this summer in Worcester.

This is a part time summer position. This program is funded by DCR Universal Access Program.
