Public Meeting on Wednesday will Address Jet Skis on Indian Lake

A public meeting will be held Wednesday, May 6 to address eliminating or decreasing the use of jet skis on Indian Lake.

The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. in the Levi Lincoln Chamber at City Hall. It’s being hosted by the City Council’s committee on Veterans’ memorials, parks and recreation.

The meeting will also include discussion on plans for the Crompton Park Skate Park.

Free COVID-19 Testing this Week in Worcester

The UMass Memorial Health Care COVID-19 Equity Task Force and the City of Worcester are offering free, walk-up COVID-19 testing this week.

The testing will take place indoors at Mercantile Center at 201 Commercial St. on the following days and times:

  • Monday, May 3, 11 AM to 3 PM
  • Thursday, May 6, 11 AM to 3 PM

No appointments are necessary.

 

Six Equity Vaccine Clinics this Week

There are six scheduled equity vaccine clinics this week for first doses and second dose:

  • Worcester Senior Center, 128 Providence St., Monday, May 3, 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., second dose;
  • Centro, 11 Sycamore St., Wednesday, May 5, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., first dose;
  • Stop & Shop, 940 West Boylston St., Wednesday, May 5, 9:30-10:30 a.m., second dose;
  • Lakeside Apartments, 300 Lakeside Ave., Thursday, May 6, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., first dose;
  • American Legion, 1023 Main St., Thursday, May 6, 9:30-11:30 a.m., second dose;
  • Saint-Gobain, 351 Stores St., Friday, May 7, 12-3 p.m., second dose.

 

Orlando Baxter to Perform at Worcester Beer Garden Two Nights this Week

Comedian, former Worcester Public Schools teacher and Worcester native Orlando Baxter will be performing at the Worcester Beer Garden on Friday, May 7 and Saturday, May 8.

Baxter has performed across the country and around the globe, making his late night television debut in 2016 on Conan.

The event is being hosted by WooHaHa! Comedy Club.

Nurses Mark your Calendar: Grab a Free Coffee from Dunkin on Thursday

In honor of National Nurses Day — Thursday, May 6 — Dunkin’ will offer a free medium hot or iced coffee – no purchase necessary – to all healthcare workers who visit participating Dunkin’ restaurants nationwide, while supplies last.

To get a free coffee, nurses must show an ID. The deal excludes cold brew and Nitro cold brew. Limit one per guest. The deal isn’t valid on orders placed on the Dunkin’ app.
