In today’s edition – Tuesday, November 22 – the Canal District is promoting $2 all day parking in the Washington Street parking lot, White Eagle is hosting World Cup watch parties this week, the Veterans Inc. Holiday Harvest is today, the EcoTarium is opening a time capsule this weekend and Wendy’s Frosty Key Tags are now available.

Canal District Promoting $2 All Day Parking on Washington Street

While parking in the Canal District has been a topic at the forefront of local news and social media commentary with multiple restaurant closings over the past few weeks, The Canal District is promoting $2 all-day parking on Washington Street.

The lot is located 165 Washington St. at the corner of Washington and Lamartine streets, behind the Burger King at Kelley Square.

 

White Eagle Hosting World Cup Watch Parties this Week

The World Cup is underway and the White Eagle Polish Club on Green Street is welcoming soccer fans for three watch parties starting this week to cheer on Poland.

White Eagle will have watch parties today – Nov. 22 – at 11 AM for Poland versus Mexico, on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 8 AM for Poland versus Saudi Arabia and on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 2 PM for Poland versus Argentina.

The United States team plays its second game on Friday, Nov. 25 at 2 PM against England.

Veterans Inc. Holiday Harvest is Today

The annual Veterans Inc. Holiday Harvest is today – Nov. 22 – from 10 AM to 2 PM at 69 Grove St. in Worcester.

The event is open to all current and former members of the armed services and reserves and their families in need.

Each family will receive free supplies for a full Thanksgiving meal, including a frozen turkey and all the sides.

EcoTarium Opening Time Capsule from 1982 this Weekend

The EcoTarium Museum of Science and Nature will unearth a 40-year-old time capsule on Sunday, Nov. 27. The capsule was buried on the museum’s Sundial Plaza in 1982.

The public is invited to attend and look at what’s inside the capsule.  The event starts at 11 AM.

The EcoTarium is located at 222 Harrington Way in Worcester.
