Neighborhood Strings First Concert of School Year is Nov. 18
Worcester Chamber Music Society’s Neighborhood Strings students will perform their first concert of the 2022-2023 school year on Nov. 18 at 5 PM in the JMAC PopUp. The students will be joined by the Clark Sinfonia, a student string ensemble at Clark University.
Neighborhood Strings is a program of Worcester Chamber Music Society that seeks to empower at-risk and underserved young people in Worcester’s Downtown and Main South neighborhoods through music education. Now in its 11th year, Neighborhood Strings currently serves 90 students, ages 7-18 at four teaching sites.
The Clark Sinfonia was founded in the spring of 2003 and is a string ensemble with the occasional addition of wind, brass, and percussion. Its musical foundations are the excellent repertoire available for strings, along with the symphonic repertoire of Haydn and Mozart.
The groups will perform separately and also join forces to perform together during the performance.
