Worcester School Committee Meeting on Tuesday
The Worcester School Committee meets in a virtual meeting on Tuesday, November 9 at 5 PM.
There are just two items on the meeting agenda, including and update from the Ad-Hoc Search Committee for the next Superintendent. The committee will provide a report on the outcome of last week’s Ad-Hoc meeting.

Project New Hope’s 1st Annual Stuff the Van Food Drive
Project New Hope, a non-profit veterans organization, is hosting the First Annual Stuff the Van Thanksgiving Food Drive on Thursday, November 11, from 9 AM to 2 PM, at Price Chopper at 50 Cambridge Street in Worcester.
All donations go to helping local service-members, Veterans, and their families.
Service-members and veterans in need can call (774) 243-7859 to schedule an appointment to come to Sully’s Food Pantry, at 70 James Street, Suite 129A, on the 1st or 3rd Saturday of the month between 9 AM to noon. A DD-214, VA Healthcare Card, DOD military/dependent ID CAC Card or Driver’s License noting Veteran required.
Worcester Cowboys Fundraisers this Month
The Worcester Cowboys youth football team holds two fundraisers this month at local area restaurants.
Papa Gino’s, at 681 West Boylston Street in Worcester, partners with the Cowboys on Thursday, November 18.
Between the hours of 4 PM and 8 PM, 20% of any order online using the code 19 at the payment screen, any delivery order that mentions the fundraiser, order for carry out or, dine-in order that shows this flyer, will be donated to the Cowboys. Orders must be for regular priced items and cannot be paired with coupons or deals.
Chipotle, at 97 Boston Turnpike in Shrewsbury, partners with the Cowboys on Sunday, November 28.
Between the hours of 4 PM and 8 PM, 33% of any order online for pickup using the code DQN8FFT or in-store purchase showing this flyer, will be donated to the Worcester Cowboys.
Delivery orders and gift card purchase do not apply.
George’s Coney Island Meal Deal
George’s Coney Island, at 158 Southbridge Street in Worcester, offer its Meal Deal Wednesday through Sunday, from 4 PM to 7 PM.
The deal contains eight dogs any way (cheese is extra), two pickles, a choice of two chips and two pick of two pies for $19.99.
Customers can walk-in for the Meal Deal or order online.
Merz Trio at JMAC Nearly Sold Out
Music Worcester presents a celebrated piano trio bringing a program of Tchaikovsky’s Piano Trio in A minor and more to the Jean McDonough Arts Center at 20 Franklin Street in Worcester, on Friday, November 12 at 8 PM.
Few tickets remain for the performance.
