Save Point Tavern on Highland St. Closer to Opening
It looks as if the first video game bar in Worcester is nearly ready to open.
As ThisWeekinWorcester.com reported back in early May, Save Point Tavern will open at 57 Highland St. On Thursday, August 15, owner Brian Huff will appear in front of the Worcester license commission to request a common victualer license, a liquor license and an entertainment license.
The bar is expected to open in October.

Back in early June, Holy Name high school and Columbia University graduate Nadia Eke broke Africa’s triple jump national record with a personal best of 14.33m (+0.8) at the 2019 Racers/Adidas Grand Prix in Jamaica.
By breaking the national record, Eke qualified for 2019 IAAF World Championships in Qatar –which is less than two months away — and the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
QCC to Host Business Skills Seminars in Central Mass.
Quinsigamond Community College will host three free business training and skills sessions across Central Massachusetts.
On August 20, 21 and 22, companies that are eligible for these free training workshop opportunities must be located in Massachusetts, pay into the MA Unemployment Fund, which allocates money into the Workforce Training Fund, and hold a Certificate of Good Standing with the MA Department of Revenue.
Upcoming information sessions are located at three central locations:
- Tuesday, August 20, 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m., Marlborough Chamber of Commerce, 11 Florence Street, Marlborough
- Wednesday, August 21, 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m., QCC Southbridge, 5 Optical Drive, Southbridge
- Thursday, August 22, 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m., QCC’s Center for Workforce Development and Continuing Education, 25 Federal Street, Worcester

Food Truck Fright Fest Coming Back to Worcester’s Green Hill Park
Celebrate Halloween surrounded by food trucks at Worcester’s Green Hill Park on Oct. 26 from 12 PM – 5 PM for the return of the Food Truck Fright Fest.
