5 Things You Need to Know Today in Worcester – May 6, 2019

WORCESTER – In our latest daily feature, ThisWeekinWorcester.com will explore five important items and stories that Worcester and Central Massachusetts residents should keep a close eye on.

These five things can cover a whole range of subjects and issues that we feel are pertinent to understanding what’s going on in the City and the cities and towns surrounding Worcester.

In today’s edition — May 6, 2019 — a public meeting will be held to discuss a location for a new Doherty High, POW! WOW! Worcester is celebrating 508 Day, Worcester EMS Local 95 has a new home, WooSmash! Event calls all gamers, and an Indian Lake clean-up is scheduled for this weekend.

Where Should the New Doherty High Go?

That’s the question a public meeting hopes to answer regarding the construction of the new high school. The meeting will take place at the current Doherty Memorial High School on Monday, May 13 at 6:30 PM.

Discussion will likely surround whether or not the new building should be constructed on the adjacent athletic field or someplace entirely different in the neighborhood.
