WORCESTER – Detectives from the Worcester Police Department [WPD] are searching for a suspect that stabbed a Worcester cab driver on Monday.

According to the WPD, on Monday afternoon, a 54-year-old cab driver was the victim of a stabbing following a struggle with a passenger. The altercation took place in the area of Edward St. The cab driver suffered wounds on the right side of his neck.

The suspect was described as a thin, 5’10” male with a dark complexion, wearing a black jacket and a gray hooded sweatshirt. He fled on foot toward the Eastern Ave area.

The cab driver’s injuries are not expected to the life-threatening. He was transported to the hospital by paramedics. This investigation is ongoing.
