MARLBOROUGH – A 55-year-old Connecticut man died on Tuesday morning after a two-car crash on Rt. 290 in Marlborough.
According to the Massachusetts State Police [MSP], Lee Johnson, of Oakdale, CT, was transported to UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester where he was pronounced deceased.
The MSP’s preliminary investigation reveals that a 24-year-old Lowell man was traveling on Rt. 290 East around 7:15 AM in the area of Exit 26 in a 2016 Subaru Impreza when his vehicle rear-ended Johnson’s 2011 Ford Escape, causing that vehicle to enter the median and rollover.
Two passengers, a 22-year-old female and a 14-year-old male, were also transported to UMass Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The Lowell man was transported to Marlborough Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
MSP continue to investigate the crash with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and troopers assigned to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office.
No charges have been filed at this time.
State Police were assisted on scene by Marlborough Fire and EMS and MassDOT.
