WORCESTER – A Worcester man was arrested early Sunday morning on King St. after being removed from a vehicle that had been stolen from the Lincoln St. area just hours prior.

According to the Worcester Police Department [WPD], James Hill, 57, of Duxbury Rd., was placed under arrest for receiving a stolen motor vehicle. Hill was arrested after an officer saw blue Volkswagen parked on King St. and ran the license plate number through the Criminal Justice Information System [CJIS].

The vehicle had been reported stolen early Saturday evening, Aug. 3, after it was left running with the keys inside of it in the area of 247 Lincoln St.

The description was broadcast to the officers on duty.

Around 1:40 AM on Sunday, the officer saw that the Volkswagen was in the system as stolen, and removed Hill from the vehicle.

Hill had no valid reason why he was in the vehicle, and was placed under arrest.  He will be arraigned in Worcester District Court.
