Saint Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at 101 Plantation St. notified residents, families and staff members on Saturday, May 16, that 76 residents and six staff members have tested positive for COVID-19.
The email reports that five who tested positive have new onset respiratory symptoms.

The National Guard tested all residents of the facility on April 22, April 23 and May 14.

One family member of a resident told ThisWeekinWorcester.com that personal contact from Saint Francis staff had been frustratingly slow. One Saint Francis staff member had authorization to speak to a patient’s designated contacts about COVID-19 positive cases on Sunday.

A family member of a second resident who tested positive for COVID-19 said that Saint Francis staff revealed to them that the facility had five days of personal protective equipment [PPE] in stock as of Friday, May 15.

As of Sunday, May 17, the daily Massachusetts Department of Public Health COVID-19 report does not report the Saint Francis testing results.
