WORCESTER – A New York City-based jazzy R&B duo brings an unplugged and intimate, theatre-style experience of the Harlem Renaissance to the First Unitarian Church, at 90 Main Street, on Saturday, Dec. 6.
The duo, Acute Inflections, described as Erykah Badu meets Billie Holiday with modern flair, produces an entire experience, including encouraging attendees to dress in Gatsby glamour for a chance to win a prize.
Attendees can enjoy complimentary wine and other refreshments throughout the performance.
The married couple has released five albums. The latest, “Let Go,” includes soulful takes on songs from Ella Fitzgerald, Sam Cooke, Queen, and Andra Day, along with original music. The album is available to stream for free on the Acute Inflections website.
At the time of publishing, some tickets remain available for $35 or $45, both online or by calling (212) 729-8372. If tickets remain available, admission is $55 at the door. Doors open at 6:30 PM and the performance begins at 7 PM.
