All the Things You Need to Do this Weekend in Worcester

WORCESTER – The 4th of July is coming, and you might be considering this weekend to be an afterthought.

Maybe you’re planning your Independence Day party, preparing for your cookout, or figuring out how to spend the holiday weekend. Maybe you’re so busy planning your 4th of July weekend that you have completely forgotten about the next two days of freedom.

ThisWeekInWorcester.com is here to remind you, once again, to take advantage of this weekend in Worcester. 

Be sure to check out some of the events and activities below. There will be music, activities for kids, and lots of food!

Character BBQ

Looking for a kid-friendly event this weekend? Head over to Building Blocks Play Center at 997 Millbury Street for a summer night of food, characters, games, and fun! The event will feature a bouncy house, characters like Elmo, Moana, Aladdin, Spiderman, and Elsa, and a large dinner buffet! Tickets are $10 and can be purchased here. The event will be held from 5PM – 6:30PM this Saturday, June 29.

 

Miss Massachusetts Pageant 2019

Are you looking to get dressed up and visit the Hanover Theatre? The Miss Massachusetts Pageant is taking place on Saturday, June 29 at 7PM. Get dolled up, go to dinner, and then go see the top ten Miss Massachusetts competitors  participate in the show! Tickets are $50 and can be purchased here.

 

Whiskey Night at the Rock Bar

Calling all country music fans! This Saturday, June 29 at 9PM, make your way to the Rock Bar at 81 Water Street in Worcester for a night of country music by Pete Towler Acoustic. Bring your friends, sit back, and relax with an evening of music!

Celebrate Canada Day

This Sunday, June 30 at 12PM, head over to Nick’s Bar at 124 Millbury Street for an early Canada Day celebration! Nick’s will offer a variety of food, including shredded pork poutine, butter tarts, beer specials, and ketchup chips, as well as Canadian movies, hockey, and TV shows. From 1PM-7PM, there will be Canadian Music performances on their big screen, Canadian comedy, and cornhole. At 7PM, there will be a special edition of Listen! Hosted by Dave MacPherson. AT 8PM, there will be live music from Canadians. The day is jam-packed and sure to be great!

 

Red, White, and Blue Fundraiser

Are you looking to make a difference before this fourth of July? St. Mary Health Care Center at 39 Queen Street in Worcester is holding a fundraiser on Sunday, June 30 at 1:45PM. There will be ice cream sundaes and a banana split bar, and all proceeds will go to their residents fund. Help them out while enjoying summer’s greatest treat!
