The next AMC television series may be filming in Brockton, Hingham, and Randolph, but the story is set in Worcester — down to the yellow trash bags.

The show Kevin Can F**k Himself stars Annie Murphy [Schitt’s Creek] and pokes fun of the typical sitcom genre, looking in at the secret life of a sitcom wife.

The sitcom is set in “Worcester” and set photos show not only the city trash bags, but also street signs and trash receptacles with Worcester’s seal.

The show’s title itself is a reference to Kevin James’ canceled sitcom Kevin Can Wait — which killed off its original wife lead to replace her with actress Leah Remini from James’ hit show King of Queens.

Murphy plays Allison, the wife of Kevin [Eric Peterson], a cable guy. The show will have the typical sitcom look, but from the point of view of Murphy’s character.

According to AMC.com, “Kevin Can F*** Himself probes the secret life of a type of woman we all grew up believing we knew: the sitcom wife. Kevin Can F*** Himself looks to break television convention and ask what the world looks like through her eyes. Alternating between single-camera realism and multi-camera comedy, the formats will inform one another as we imagine what happens when the sitcom wife escapes her confines and takes the lead in her own life.”

The show will consist of eight, hour-long episodes.

Kevin Can F*** Himself is created and executive produced by Valerie Armstrong and executive producers Rashida Jones and Will McCormack.
