WORCESTER – The Massachusetts Port Authority [Massport] announced on Saturday, August 28, that American Airlines service will return to Worcester Regional Airport [ORH].
American Airlines will resume its daily, non-stop flights to Philadelphia International Airport [PHL] starting on November 2.
This daily flight will use an Embraer ERJ-145 aircraft that departs from PHL at 4:52 PM to arrive at ORH at 6:05 PM. The return flight departs at 6:31 PM from ORH and arrives at PHL at 8:02 PM. Tickets go on sale on Monday, August 30.
Massport previously announced flights to and from Worcester Regional Airport by Delta Airlines and JetBlue.
Delta Airlines service to La Guardia Airport in New York began on August 18.
JetBlue service to John F. Kennedy Airport in New York restarted on August 20. Massport also announced that JetBlue service to Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FFL) resumes October 21.
“This is the third flight announcement we’ve had in a few months, and we are excited to welcome American back to Worcester,” said Worcester County Sheriff and Massport Board Chairman Lew Evangelidis. “Having more service to more destinations allows passengers to choose a flight that works best for them.”
Worcester Regional Airport, which opened in 1946, celebrates its 75th anniversary this year. Massport took ownership of the airport in 2010.
