Student Arrested for Assaulting Police Officer at North High

WORCESTER – On Thursday morning, a 16-year-old male was arrested at North High School after physically assaulting a Worcester Police Department [WPD] School Resource Officer.

According to the WPD, around 10:15 AM, the School Resource Officer was on duty in the cafeteria when an altercation occurred. When the officer responded to stop the fight, the teen assaulted the officer.

After the officer attempted to restrain the teen, the male was eventually taken into custody when additional officers arrived on scene.

The juvenile is charged with Assault, Assault and Battery, Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, and Resisting Arrest. He will be arraigned in Worcester District Court. The investigation is ongoing.
