Man Faces Assault Charges for Riding Dirt Bike at Police

WORCESTER – Police saw a man on a dirt bike driving erratically and at a high rate of speed around King St. at around 1 AM on Tuesday, June 22. That man now faces multiple charges.

Officers attempted to speak with the dirt bike rider, but he sped up and nearly struck the cruiser. Another officer exited a cruiser and the man again sped up, nearly striking the officer, according to Worcester Police.

When a second officer arrived on the scene, they took the rider, Wesley Harrison, 32, of Worcester, into custody without further incident.

An investigation conducted by police revealed video evidence of pedestrians jumping out of the way of the same dirt bike previous to police arriving at the scene.

Harrison faces charges of:

  • Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Disorderly Conduct
  • Illegally Attaching Plates
  • Operating Negligently so as to Endanger
  • Possession of a False/Stolen RMV Document
  • Failure to Stop for Police
  • Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle Trailer
  • Operating a Vehicle on a Public Way
