WORCESTER – Police on foot patrol near the Worcester Common arrested a man for drug trafficking on Wednesday, Sept. 18.
According to the Worcester Police Department, officers observed a man who appeared to be distributing packages to multiple people at around 6:20 PM. After seeing these hand-to-hand transactions, they saw a man allegedly bring what they believed to be cash to another man, who then drove away.
Police stopped the vehicle driven by Adonny Aviles, 20, of Worcester, on Franklin Street.
During a search of the vehicle, the department says officers located substances that appeared to be cocaine and a small amount of fentanyls.
After being arrested, Aviles allegedly issued threats to one officer at the scene.
Aviles faces charges of:
- Trafficking in a Class B Substance 18-36 Grams;
- Possession of a Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute;
- Possession of a Class A Substance with Intent to Distribute (fentanyl);
- Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Law; and
- Intimidation of a Witness.
