Governor Charlie Baker’s office announced on Monday, April 27, a second round of funding for nursing homes that meet requirements and accountability measures.
The $130 million in funding covers two months of support for nursing facilities.
To be eligible for access to this round of funding facilities must test all staff and residents. Facilities must also report test results to the state.
Eligible nursing facilities must also be subject to in-person audits. Audits will look for infection control, PPE supply and usage, staffing, clinical care and communication requirements. Results will be publicly reported.
Nursing facilities must apply funding from this program to staffing, infection control, PPE and other supports that directly benefit staff.
The state will also provide temporary staffing assistance to all nursing homes during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
