WORCESTER – A free basketball training session takes place on Saturday, Sept. 7, in memory of Harris Wolobah.

The 14-year-old Wolobah died on Sept. 1, 2023. An autopsy concluded that he died from cardiac arrest after eating a spicy tortilla chip in the “One Chip Challenge,” a product by chip maker Paqui. Days after Wolobah’s death, the company removed the product from store shelves.

Wolobah attended Doherty High School and was an avid basketball player.

There are two co-ed sessions, which include training and exhibition games.

  • Students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades: 10 AM to 12:30 PM
  • High school students: 12:30 PM to 3 PM.

The event takes place at the Clark University Kneller Athletic Center, at 57 Downing St. in Worcester.

The event is free and open to the public, but requires registration.
