Bell Pond Beach and Crompton Park Pool Closings Extended

WORCESTER – Bell Pond Beach and Crompton Park Pool will remain closed longer than expected, according to the Worcester Department of Public Works and Parks [DPW].

In a statement during the late morning on Tuesday, July 6, the DPW announced that Bell Pond Beach will remain closed on Tuesday. The beach was closed on Monday after the stabbing of a lifeguard on Sunday.

Crompton Park Pool will remain closed on Wednesday, July 7. Scheduled to reopen on Wednesday, DPW announced the pool is being refilled and chemical testing will follow.

Crompton Park Pool closed on Friday, July 2, after vandalism took place. DPW previously announced the pool would reopen on Wednesday.

The DPW statement said it will release more information on the reopening of both Bell Pond Park and Crompton Park Poll when available.

Indian Lake, John J. Binienda Memorial Beach at Coes Pond and Shore Park – along with the two Spray Parks, Cristoforo Colombo/East Spray Park and Greenwood Spray Park, will open from noon to 7 Pm on Tuesday.
