The GoFundMe campaign — titled “Des and Jay” — was launched at the end of July and hopes to raise $5k.

The campaign reads: “My daughter Desirae , her friend Jamari, and my grandson Jay  all lost their home due to a fire this past week in Worcester. They lost majority of all their belongings, and their cat in the fire. Anything anyone can give would be highly appreciated. These are good people who need as much help as possible right now.”

Both of the family’s dogs survived the fire.
