Cinema-Worcester will hold a screening of the independent film "How to Blow Up a Pipeline" at 230 Park Ave. in Worcester on Thursday, May 11, at 7 PM,
"How to Blow Up a Pipeline" opened in a dozen theaters ion April 7 and has grown to as many as 530 since release. It has won the Alexander Mouret Award at the Leiden International Film Festival, the political film award at the Hamburg Film Festival, and awarded the ReFrame Stamp for for gender-balanced production certification. It has also been nominated for several other awards, including the American Independent Award at the Denver International Film Festival, and the Jury Award for best narrative feature at the Philadelphia Film Festival.
The environmentalist action-thriller directed by Daniel Goldhabe, depicts a crew of activists who plot to disrupt an oil pipeline. It has received favorable reviews by the New York Times, the Guardian, and several other publications. It has a 94 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Cinema-Worcester, the host of the screening, seeks to create an independent, full time, community cinema for Worcester.
