Boater Dies After Falling into Lake Quinsigamond

WORCESTER - State Police announced Saturday night that divers have recovered the body of a man in Lake Quinsigamond after two men fell from a boat into the water.

According to the Worcester Police Department, a call received around 6 PM reported a boating incident in Lake Quinsigamond. alerted to the incident just before 6 P.M on Saturday, June 18. Emergency vehicles soon arrived on at North Regatta Point to begin a search for survivors.

A 26=yer-old man  was found in the water suffering a serious leg injury and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

At around 10 PM, divers located the body of a 31-year-old man approximately 200 yards from the shore in water 60 feet deep.

The Worcester Fire Department, Massachusetts Environmental Police, and Massachusetts State Police all took part in the search and rescue operation.

The names of the victims have not been released.
