NASHUA – The Worcester Bravehearts will complete its 2020 season on Saturday, August 22, in the final game of the Future Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL) championship series.

After a Bravehearts win in the series opener on Thursday, the Nashua Silver Knights took game two 5-1 on Friday, August 21, forcing the deciding game of the three-game series on Saturday.

Bravehearts starter Angelo Baez (senior, St. Thomas Aquinas) came into the game 3-1 with a 1.28 ERA but got touched for all five runs in the first inning.

Baez gave the Bravehearts five scoreless innings after the first to give his team a chance to get back in the game.

Nashua left-handed started Nick Guarino (senior, Clark) made sure that didn’t happen. His only blemish was solo homerun by Nick Martin (junior, Westfield State) in the third.

The best-of-three series goes to its deciding game on Saturday, August 22, at 6 PM in Nashua.

The team that wins Saturday is the 2020 FCBL champion and takes the lead for most league titles overall.

The Bravehearts are seeking its third straight title and its fifth in seven seasons.
