WORCESTER – The City of Worcester has announced that Sunday’s Worcester County St. Patrick’s parade has been cancelled as the City takes precautionary measures against the spread of the coronavirus.

The decision to cancel was made by the the Worcester County St. Patrick’s Parade Committee and the City of Worcester.

The announcement comes following Governor Charlie Baker’s declared state of emergency.

The parade was scheduled for this Sunday, March 15 from 12 PM to 3 PM, but Worcester is following in the footsteps of the City of Boston who cancelled their parade on Monday.

Last year, the parade was postponed two weeks due to a snowstorm in early March.
