The Boston Bruins tried to make a comeback in the third period, but the Nashville Predators held on to win 5-3 on Monday night.
Boston went down 4-0 and could never fully recover from the deficit after they came out slow and sluggish to start the game.
Goalie Anton Khudobin suffered his first loss of the season and was removed from the game in the second period and replaced by Tuukka Rask after Khudobin gave up four goals – two of those came in the second just four minutes apart.
The B’s finally got on the board halfway through the second period when defender Charlie McAvoy lit the lamp for the fourth time this season.
Boston made it interesting in the third period when they scored two goals in a 1:15 span to bring this game within one goal.
Defender Zdeno Chara got the attempted rally started win a goal from the point through traffic before right winger David Pastrnak scored his team-leading 14 goal.
However, the Preds went back up by two goals and Boston wouldn’t recover as they lost 5-3.
With the loss, the Bruins fell to 12-9-4 while the Predators improved to 17-7-3

2.Charlie McAvoy: he continues to prove to be a force on the ice and scored another goal tonight. He now has a three-game point streak.
1.David Pastrnak: he has been consistent for the Bruins all season and scored his team-leading 14 goal.
