AUBURN – A local man was arrested for two separate attacks on homes in Auburn using a homemade device with flammable liquid in June 2019.
At the time of the attacks, Auburn detectives were able to collect DNA evidence on the suspect. In 2020, Texas authorities collected DNA from a man, Robert Budzyna, 33, of Auburn, that matched the samples collected in the Auburn attacks.

According to the Auburn Police Department, a judge issued a warrant for Budzyna on Friday, April 22. Auburn detectives located him later that day and placed him in custody.
Budzyna faces charges of:
- Fugitive from Justice in Texas;
- Felony Warrant: two counts of arson, two counts of throwing explosives;
- Possession of a Dangerous Weapon: Brass Knuckles.
