WORCESTER – On Saturday, Feb. 16, the City of Worcester will host a Winter Carnival on the Worcester Common Oval featuring loads of family friendly entertainment, food trucks, and a beer tent featuring “Worcester’s Bravest” beer.

The beer, a collaboration by Wormtown Brewing and Wachusett Brewing Company, was released on Feb. 1. All of the proceeds from the sale of “Worcester’s Bravest” will go to the Ava Roy Fund in support of fallen Worcester firefighter Christopher Roy’s nine-year-old daughter, Ava.

The event will take place from 1 PM to 6 PM and will feature entertainment such as the Snowzilla Jr. inflatable slide and a soccer dart board game.

Prior to the event, a Public Safety Broomball Tournament will be held on the Worcester Common Oval among teams from the Worcester Police Department, Worcester Fire Department and Worcester EMS. The games will run from 11 AM to 1 PM.

Admission for open skating is $5, and free for children six and younger. Skate rentals are available for $5. Skating for all first responders and their families will be free of charge.
