According to the Worcester Police Department, officers were called to the area of 610 Burncoat Street around 6:15 PM for a report of an accident with injury.
When police arrived, they found a grey Subaru sedan submerged in water in a ditch and the three teens making their way up from the embankment.
Nearby, a broken wooden utility pole was on fire.
The vehicle struck the utility pole and then veered off the road into the embankment.
A 17-year old male from North Grafton was injured in the accident, who was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The other passengers in the vehicle were identified as an 18 year-old male from North Grafton and an 18-year-old male from Uxbridge.
The driver told police that he lost control of the vehicle while traveling on West Boylston St.
Witnesses told ThisWeekinWorcester.com that the pole was broken about three feet up from the ground.
As of 10:30 PM, National Grid was still in the neighborhood working to resolve the power outage.
